Musicians have a responsibility towards society. Just as an engineer is expected to design stable structures, and a doctor is expected to improve the patient's health, musicians should deliver a positive experience to their audience. This allows for a multitude of different styles and genres, but, within each genre, the musician should strive towards excellence. Just keep in mind that what artists produce nourishes the human spirit.

While not all artists are necessarily concerned with "saving the planet", it is my belief that this is the most desirable goal of the artist. Othershise it is just self indulgence.

Some artists use their craft to learn more about themselves and inspire others in the process. This accounts for the tremendous variety of artistic expression in the world. However, since artists are also a product of the world they live in, it is worth thinking about improving the the environment so that the next generation of artists and musicians will be inspired by the world they live in.

Therefore, be the best artist you can be and strive for excellence!
